Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years PCU/Stepdown
Experience License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS (AHA),
ONCC or ONS certification required; will accept pending ONS
certification Must-Have: Ability to administer chemotherapy via IV
and start IVs Description: ONCC or ONS certification is required,
and candidates may apply with pending ONS certification. The unit
cares for general medical and oncology patients. 36 or 48 hour
workweeks are available; please indicate preference in submission.
Skills required include administering chemotherapy via IV and
starting IVs. Equipment used includes Welch Allyn Vital sign
towers, sigma IV pumps, and EPIC for documentation. Chemo admission
decreases assignment ratios. The nurse to patient ratio is
typically 1:4-6, with support staff available if ratios exceed
this. Candidates should be available during the first two weeks of
the assignment. Weekend shifts are assigned by the
manager/scheduler, and the clinician may request days through
self-scheduling. Any requests for time off after the offer must be
discussed with the manager on-site. The unit includes
interdisciplinary support services such as Physical Therapy,
Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy. Patient demographics include
adults and geriatrics with various diagnoses, including cancer,
sepsis, and heart failure. Flexibility to float to other med-surg
