Job Description:
DescriptionThe electrical engineer will be working on-site at
the facility in Battle Creek. In this role, responsibilities
include maintaining programs for electrical infrastructure, power
factor management and updating/maintaining PLCs. This person should
have a strong background in electrical design for facilities and be
well versed in schematics. They will also be responsible for
managing their own projects of varying sizes and scope that will be
funded through capital and expense budgets. You will work together
with other departments to create solutions to improve processes,
upgrading the equipment, etc. You will also be the go to person for
the electricians on any issues that they are unable to resolve. You
will work with the maintenance group for troubleshooting in plants.
Power distribution experience and knowledge is key for this role -
this individual should understand distribution for up to 4800
voltage.(An example of a project would be upgrading substations to
improve efficiency.)Responsibilities
- Strive to insure safety of personnel for construction,
maintenance, etc. Maintain standards for Arc Flash protection, PPE,
grounding, safety circuits, hazardous locations, and LOTO.
- Maintain programs for electrical infrastructure maintenance,
power factor management, and electrical monitoring and
metering.
- Update and maintain electrical/controls equipment.
- Insure the maintenance of electrical schematics and
documentation.
- Support plant operations with technical troubleshooting
capabilities.
- Provide training and technical leadership for electrical
skilled trades.
- Assist in development of scope, cost, and schedule for new
electrical installations and infrastructure improvement projects,
including capital projects.
- Maintain required project management documentation and history
files.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement and cost
reduction initiatives.
- Utilize, implement, and evaluate new and emerging

Haves
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with power distribution systems up to 4800V AC
including substations, switchgear, and power factor correction
equipment.
- 3.5+ years of experience in engineering for food manufacturing,
oil/gas, nuclear, or manufacturingNice to Haves
- Project management experience or PE
- Electrical Design (schematics) capacities
- Ability to troubleshoot issues with PLC Controls
- Experience with motors, drivers and associated circuitry About
