POSITION: Maintenance Specialist

HOURLY RANGE: $19.25-$34.85 Full-Time/Union/Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Maintenance Specialist position is responsible for maintenance and repair work for buildings and job sites like agency clinics, offices and apartment complexes and other agency buildings. The position assists in a wide variety of maintenance activities; addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; performs skilled trades; and ensuring that tools, materials, and vehicles are maintained in good working order are available at job site when needed. Arranges furniture and equipment. Transports and secures materials for projects. Installs office equipment and facility components (i.e., lighting, heating and ventilating systems, alarms, plumbing, electrical, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and workable environment. Performs a variety of general and semi-skilled maintenance activities (i.e., carpentry, painting, etc.) for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames. Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns. Transports a variety of tools, equipment, and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at the job site. Position requires maintaining confidentiality and privacy within MDHHS, state and federal guidelines. Utilizes knowledge of CARF, CMS, MDHHS and Managed Care standards. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications and Capabilities:

High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior maintenance experience required.
Possess the ability to operate equipment used in skilled trades, power, and hand tools, etc.
Possess the ability to adhere to safety practices; handle hazardous materials; and plan and complete projects timely and accurately.
Requires working a variable schedule with some evening, weekend and on call work - where one must respond quickly in emergency situations.
Possess and maintain valid Michigan Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

Essential Functions:

This position will be knowledgeable about and actively support 1) culturally competent, recovery-based practices; 2) person-centered planning as a shared decision-making process with the individual, who defines his/her own life goals and is assisted in developing a unique path toward those goals; and 3) a trauma informed culture to aid individuals in their recovery process.

A trauma-informed approach to service delivery emphasizes physical and emotional safety, choice, empowerment, and trustworthiness for customers. The impact of trauma is broad and touches many life domains. Participation is mandatory for activities required for Summit Pointe to become a "Trauma Informed System of Care."

Physical Environment/Work Conditions:

Professional office environment that generates noise from computer equipment/peripherals.
Possible exposure to health risks (violence and infectious diseases).
Sometimes lifts, carries, or moves objects up to 100 lbs.
May be required to work variable hours/shifts.
