States of America CBRE is looking for a Project Manager to support
our Life Sciences clients in Chicagoland and surrounding markets.
40% travel is required. JOB SUMMARY The purpose of this position is
to lead individual, multi-disciplined real estate project solutions
for Life Science clients, in facilities such as surgical suites,
MRI Suites, vivarium, wet/dry labs, and research facilities. The
ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating with Capital
Planning Associates, developing project scope, schedule and budget,
managing design and construction, and serving as the project lead
with relevant internal and external stakeholders. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as an agent of the Owner leading all
phases of construction projects including planning, scheduling,
budgeting, design, construction, owner test fits, and regulatory
interaction with the support of internal Facilities Team, User
Groups, Owner's Corporate Real Estate and Construction Managers,
and business stakeholders
Develops request for proposals, issues LOIs, negotiates terms and
conditions, contract development, and awards project work.
Evaluates and administers contract documents to outside
construction contractors, including approval for payment
applications to the Owner.
Orders furniture, equipment and other Owner furnished materials for
the construction project.
Utilizes broad industry experience to improve and/or introduce new
business practices, policies and procedures necessary to achieve
Takes initiative regarding risk management/mitigation and
contingency planning with budget, scope, schedule, communications,
or other matters as necessary to prevent negative impacts to the

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in Architecture,
Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management or
equivalent education and experience
Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management,
construction management, or facilities management
Preferred experience in design/construction management for
large/small vivarium, BSL-2, BSL-3, MRI suites, surgical suites,
and wet-lab research space
Proven ability to build teams, integrate into existing teams, and
lead projects of varying complexity. Demonstrated success
delivering projects on time, within budget, and with the standard
of care and quality expected of similar industry professionals.
Effective communicator and leader of internal/external project team
members such as stakeholders, building owners, managers,
architects, engineers, contractors, and authorities having
Ability to manage multiple projects during different phases
Experience with software MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, PowerPoint,
AutoCAD, Revit, & BlueBeam SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Decisions made
with a thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and
business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
