The Maintenance Manager, in cooperation with
shift supervisors, leads a team of maintenance technicians in the
Battle Creek plant and nearby distribution center to ensure all
equipment remains operational and directs proactive work on

Essential Duties and
The Manager will be responsible for all
direction and coaching of skilled-trades maintenance crews in a
production environment. This includes electrical and mechanical
servicing and efficient maintenance of production machinery and
equipment, physical plant, utilities and grounds in accordance with

Strong knowledge and
understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, belt systems, motors,
pumps, and other industrial machine components.
Ability to perform and
supervise mechanical work, valve replacement, conveyor bearing and
chain replacement, motor/gearbox replacement, lubrication
Must possess the
skills/knowledge of an Industrial Electrician to read and
comprehend electrical schematics to install, troubleshoot, conduct
preventative maintenance and perform repairs to facilities and
production equipment to 480 Volts, 3-Phase.
Ability to troubleshoot
and re-wire high speed equipment such as AC/DC motors, VFDs, PLCs,
PLC I/O modules and servo motors.
Working knowledge of
electrical controls systems, safety circuits, and automation
components such as inductive proximity sensors, photoeye sensors,
and mechanical limit switches.
Experience with boiler
systems and ammonia refrigeration a plus.
Promotion of safety
awareness and participation in safety meetings. Knowledge of safety
policies and procedures is required (e.g. lock out / tag out, high
Working knowledge of and
the ability to use hand and power tools

Recommends measures to

Qualifications and Physical
- Education: BS / BA is strongly preferred
(Engineering or similar technical discipline preferred)
- Experience: Must have food experience in a
- Must have 7-10 years of maintenance
experience and a minimum of 5 years of supervisor
- OSHA Certification preferred
- Language/Communication: Ability to read,
analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional
journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general

multi-lingual personnel team.
- Reasoning: Ability to

up to fifty pounds out of confined spaces and occasionally having
to lift product overhead.
- Ability to stand, kneel climb ladders and
