The Battle Creek VA Medical Center is recruiting for an Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health. The Associate Chief of Staff for Mental Health will function in Chief of Staff Service. [ "Under the broad supervision of the Chief of Staff, and working closely with the mental health Service Chiefs, Program Leaders, and professional staff, the Associate Chief of Staff -Mental Health (ACOS-MH) maintains responsibility for the overall direction of a large, high complexity mental health care system to ensure fully integrated approaches to mental health care across multiple geographic settings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive and progressive leadership experience, both as a clinician and an administrator. The candidate will possess the ability to promote innovation, inspire organizational excellence, and to build and sustain multidisciplinary teams devoted to the development and promotion of behavioral health programs and services that are evidence-based, cost-effective and veteran-centric. In order to care for the mental health needs of a large, complex and geographically-dispersed Veteran population, the Battle Creek VAMC provides a diverse array of inpatient and outpatient programs to form a comprehensive continuum of care for the treatment of Mental Health conditions including Depression, Readjustment Problems, Substance Use Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress and other Serious Mental Illnesses. This care is delivered to Veterans across 22 counties in Southwestern Michigan. The Battle Creek VAMC is an academic medical center providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology, medical education and research. Ideal candidates will be board-certified physicians (in Psychiatry) VA Senior/Supervisory Psychologists, a Chief Registered Nurse (VN-0610-4) or meet the qualification standards for Social Work Program Manager (GS-0185-14) as defined in VA Handbook 5005, Part II Appendix G39. S/he must have significant mentoring and executive-level management experience in clinical/administrative settings and demonstrated operations and planning experience in a tertiary care environment. A strong working knowledge of VHA and other accrediting standards and regulations as they pertain to Mental Health Care is essential.
