Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/06/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 6, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Michigan, requiring a minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience and availability for night shifts with every other weekend rotation. Details - Hospital-based Med/Surg unit environment - Patient population includes a mix of medical and specialty patients across ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, GI, urology, and surgical cases (hysterectomies and mastectomies) - Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM - 36 or 48 hour weeks available - Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 on nights; may flex to 1:7-8 with LPN support - Every other weekend required - Floating to other Med/Surg units required, typically once per week based on unit needs - 13-week contract Requirements - Active Michigan RN license required - BLS certification (AHA) required; pending certification may be accepted with confirmation of intent to obtain - Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required; 2 years strongly preferred Additional Information - Must be available for the first 2 weeks of the assignment for orientation - Collaborative team environment with RNs, LPNs, and techs - Block scheduling cannot be accommodated at this time - Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility will be paid at a local rate - A March 23rd start is strongly preferred; an April 6th start will be considered American Traveler Job ID P-680403.
