Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/06/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Days, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 6, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a MI RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience, with float responsibilities across multiple Med/Surg units. Details - Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit - Patient population includes orthopedic, neurovascular, cardiopulmonary, and surgical patients (GI, urology, hysterectomies, mastectomies) - Night shift staffing ratio of 1:5-6, with potential flex to 1:8 when paired with an LPN for support - Schedule options include 3x12 or 4x12 shifts; days run 7:00 AM–7:30 PM - Every other weekend required - Float to other Med/Surg units approximately once per week based on unit need - Collaborative team environment including RNs, LPNs, and Techs Requirements - Active Michigan RN license required - BLS certification (AHA) required; pending certification accepted if candidate is willing to obtain prior to start - Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years preferred - Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team (RNs, LPNs, Techs) Additional Information - Must be available for the full week of orientation - Block scheduling cannot be accommodated at this time - Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but may be subject to a different pay rate - 13-week contract American Traveler Job ID P-680420.
