A healthcare facility in Battle Creek, MI, seeks a Registered Nurse with Oncology expertise for a contract position specializing in medical-surgical and oncology step-down care. This opportunity serves patients on a step-down unit focused on general medicine and oncology, requiring proficiency in chemotherapy administration and critical care practices. Key Responsibilities: Administer chemotherapy via IV and initiate IVs Utilize medical equipment including Welch Allyn vital sign towers and Sigma IV pumps Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records Provide care on a general medicine/oncology step-down unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio typically ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 Float to other medical-surgical areas, such as acute units and emergency rooms, as needed Qualifications and Experience: Current Michigan RN License BLS certification from the American Heart Association ONCC certification in Oncology Nursing OR ONS certification (pending ONS certification accepted) Minimum two years of experience in PCU/Stepdown nursing Strong competency in IV chemotherapy administration and critical care nursing practices Schedule and Shift Details: Night shift schedule, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 to 07:30) Option for 36 or 48 hour work weeks; schedule preferences should be noted in the application Weekend work every other weekend, with scheduling managed by supervisors and some self-scheduling flexibility available Block scheduling accommodations may be considered upon request About Battle Creek, MI:Battle Creek offers a welcoming community atmosphere with a mix of urban and natural attractions.
