Surgical Tech Location: Grand Rapids, MI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,221 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position Job Title: Surgical Technologist - First Assist Profession: Surgical Technologist Specialty: Agency Staff Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Not required Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Surgical Tech First Assistant (STFA) Must-Have: - Experience working with GYN and Breast care preferred. - Ability to maintain a sterile and safe environment. - Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Description: The Surgical Technologist maintains responsibility for preparation of the surgical suite. They are responsible for intraoperative handling of instruments and maintenance of the sterile field. They evaluate changing conditions during surgical procedures and respond appropriately as needed. They must maintain knowledge of surgical procedures and principles related to those procedures. May serve as a Preceptor. They provide sterile instruments and supplies during the surgical procedure. Responsible for performing surgical sponge, needle, and instrument counts. They create and maintain a sterile environment. Responsible for preparing case tables with necessary equipment, sterile supplies, instruments, and medications for each surgical case. They assist in positioning patients for surgical procedures and maintain a protective position throughout the case. They work proactively with physicians to submit preference card changes and suggest instrument set changes. Actively engages in case costing and connects with team members to make cost-saving suggestions. Participates in safety initiatives and completes all position and unit safety-related competencies on time. Performs other duties as assigned.
