Centrica Care Navigators, Formerly Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team on a scheduled on an Irregular Part Time -schedule -at Glenn Arbor, our 10-bed hospice residence in Battle Creek. This position works up to a 12-hour night shift (7:00pm to 7:30am). - IRPT nurses must provide (2) shifts of availability per two-week pay period, including (1) weekend shift per month (Friday or Saturday night) and (1) holiday per year.Our RNs provide -skilled professional nursing care to the client/family/caregiver as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with regulations as established by the State Board of Registered Nursing, the client, and the policies of Centrica Care Navigators. Specific duties of this position include the following:

• Provides professional nursing care by utilizing all elements of the nursing process.
• Assesses and evaluates clients status by writing and initiating a Plan of Care, regularly re-evaluating client/family needs, and revising the Plan of Care as necessary.
• Initiates and sustains as needed the implementation of orders for medications and treatments prescribed by the attending physician or designee.
• Completes, maintains, and submits, within specific timeframes, accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding the client's condition and care given.
• Assists the client with activities of daily living and facilitates the client's efforts toward self-sufficiency and optimal comfort care.
• Individualizes and teaches the client/family/caregiver self-care techniques as appropriate.
• Works in cooperation with the family/caregiver and Interdisciplinary Group members to meet the needs of the client/family/caregiver.
• Supervises ancillary personnel and delegates responsibilities when required.
• Accepts responsibility of assignment to perform a specialized procedure, such as IV Therapy, only when qualified with specialty training, proven competency, clinical background, and expertise in the specialty area.
• Attends Interdisciplinary Group meetings as indicated.Requirements for this position include:
  • Maintains license as a Registered Nurse from the State of Michigan; BSN preferred.
  • Maintains current BLS certification.
  • A minimum of one year of hospice, medical, surgical, or critical care nursing experience.
  • Experience with issues concerning the terminally ill, death/dying, and pain symptom management; IV skills preferred.
  • Current hospice experience preferred.
  • Has the availability of a reliable, licensed, and insured vehicle for use on the job.
  • Remains up to date on all immunizations required by LARA and agency policy. -Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
