Must be flexible to change projects and have the ability to
multi-taskas priorities change. Be flexible withworking hours, as
needed, to support project coverage and base monthactivities,
including weekends periodically. Will often be involved in multiple
projects at the same time and willneed to prioritize. Must possess
timestudy skills for line balancing and bottleneck identification.
Ability to apply standardized work based onthe environment. Must be
proficient inMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and
Visio) and AutoCAD. Self-directed with good organizational
andcommunication skills. Analytical abilityto study current system,
identify problems, create improvement plans andinfluence management
to implement proposed solutions. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Lean
manufacturingimplementation and support plant wide to improve
efficiency and reduce leadtime. Develop and design tools, jigs,flow
racks, and miscellaneous improvement items to resolve
manufacturingproblems and improve OA (Operational Availability).
Support special projects such as New ProductIntroduction,
productivity improvements, defect reduction, capacityimprovements,
changeover improvement and area layouts. Maintain documentation
regarding currentfiscal year Excellent Factory activities. Assist
with departmental G&O's and budget planning. Periodic training
and benchmarking trips toaffiliated companies. Record anddistribute
meeting minutes. Develop andprepare presentations to all levels of
management including monthly ExcellentFactory meeting. Create and
maintainschedules to ensure progress for responsible projects.
Ability to complete capacity, capability, andforecasting studies.
Ability tounderstand and apply the concepts of Just-In-Time.
PREFERENCES Prefer candidateto have an understanding of lean
manufacturing and have the ability to applythese concepts to all
applications including production, warehouse and thesupply chain.
Experience with simulationsoftware is a plus. PHYSICAL DEMANDS &
ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job you may be
asked tointermittently sit, stand, walk, lift or carry component
parts weighing up to35 pounds-lifting parts in excess of 35 pounds
with a lift assist, work on theproduction line for short periods of
time, use hands to handle or feel parts,reach with hand and arms,
stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear, use closevision, distance
vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision,frequent
phone use and typing. The workenvironment will vary from an open
office setting to a production environment.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS(MUST meet minimumqualifications to be
considered) Bachelor degree in Engineering or 8 years ofengineering
