Tasks and Qualifications:
What You Will Be Doing In This Role:
As a Controls Engineering Manager at Dematic Corp., you will play a
pivotal role in leading our engineering team towards outstanding
achievements. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to

- Ensure all team members have the tools and training to perform
required tasks in all work locations safely. Promote a safety
culture across the organization with a focus on zero incidents and
100% compliance.
- Ensure accuracy and achievement of performance critical metrics
for quality, timely delivery, and cost. Proactively clear
roadblocks to critical metric target attainment for project
teams.
- Foster a culture of compliance through open communication and
by empowering all team members to raise potential compliance
concerns through the available channels.
- Manage project execution risk through validation of project
inputs (as-sold project documentation and the project schedule),
effective project staffing strategies, and comprehensive adherence
to standard work and quality processes.
- Participate in pre-sale technical reviews with Sales & Solution
Development, reviewing for technical and costing accuracy.
- Own short-term monthly forecast across assigned projects
independently of resource reporting.
- Manage costs throughout the month at the project level and take
action as necessary. Communicate unplanned events to the Project
Manager and engineering leadership as appropriate.
- Take necessary actions to ensure staffing levels and talent
support the current and forecasted workload.
- Lead team members by example and by living KION's shared Group
Values and Leadership Principles.
- Engage with peers and personnel to gauge sentiment and
perceptions.
- Provide input and recommendations to senior leaders to address
opportunities for improvement, as well as recognize and promote
people and team successes.
- Evaluate and allocate appropriate teams and abilities of
resources to successfully deliver engineering content using all
available talent pools, both internal and external.
- Identify and implement necessary training to address gaps in
resource skills or expertise. Identify high-potential personnel for
technical SME and leadership roles. Identify stretch assignment
opportunities with Sr. Managers.
- Support talent development through active and consistent
engagement, including 1-1 meetings, real-time learning/mentoring
opportunities, and training programs.
- Regularly interact with team members through various meetings
for career development and performance evaluations.
- See opportunities and ideas to boost team important metrics and
efficiency. Use LEAN tools to enhance processes and implement
change within the team.
- Support and participate in business initiatives.
- Effectively communicate, own the message, and implement changes
within the team ensuring clear objectives and adherence.
What We are Looking For:
- Engineering Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
(Electrical, Mechanical, Controls). An advanced degree or
equivalent experience is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience leading teams.
- Experience leading the full lifecycle of projects: Customer
specifications, electrical drawing, PLC programming, and
commissioning.
- PLC experience in Allen Bradley and Siemens preferred.
- Experience with Dematic Multi Shuttle is a plus.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation
skills. Ability to solve problems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact
effectively in a team-based organization and with employees of all
levels and backgrounds across all functions.
- Proficient customer-facing skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed to project sites, customer
meetings, support pre-sales activities, and meet with
suppliers.
