Division DescriptionCosma Castings Michigan (CCMI)- a division of Magna International- is located in Battle Creek, Michigan. We are a casting and assembly facility that manufactures automotive body components for GM, Ford, FCA, Honda, and other aftermarket customers. We operate a 300,000-square-foot facility with approximately 500 employees. We offer a market competitive wage and benefit package including 401(k) with company match, 3 levels of PPO medical, dental, and vision insurance (eligible after 30 days), profit sharing program, and other benefits- including paid time off & holidaysSummary of ResponsibilitiesThe Manufacturing Engineer leads the work related to the development of new manufacturing processes at Cosma Casting Michigan. The engineer will develop concepts that include the specification of equipment and make recommendations for the technical selection of purchased equipment. They will manage the build, delivery, and installation of equipment to ensure the equipment is commissioned on time and under budget. This position employs lean manufacturing principles to optimize the effectiveness of our manufacturing operations to assure competitive pricing.
Additional Responsibilities Include:

• Support production to meet attainment goals
• Support maintenance with troubleshooting machine issues
• Lead cycle time improvement projects
• Ensure high Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
• Support continuous improvement projects
• Troubleshoot quality issues
• Prepare and update equipment Statement of Requirement (SORs) and technical comparisons. Collaborate with SMEs to develop SORs
• Maintain a list of equipment suppliers. Identify new suppliers and verify capabilities
• Standardize components to minimize spare parts inventory costs
• Assist with CapEx based on equipment timing and budget
• Lead Machine FMEA for major equipmentKey Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Engineering experience, preferably in a castings manufacturing environment
  • Fundamental computer skills using the Microsoft Office suite
