Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepares monthly balance sheets and profit and loss statements
Prepares month-end journal entries
Reconciles bank accounts monthly
Helps manage accounts receivable collections
Completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable
Assists in weekly payroll processing
Assists in responding to employee inquiries regarding pay and resolve any discrepancies
Responds to unemployment claims and verifications of employment requests
Time-clock management
Gathers necessary account information and documents to perform quarterly/annual audits
Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong data entry, analytical and problem solving skills
Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and with discretion
Superior technical/computer skills including Excel and Word
Proficient with Quickbooks accounting software
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field, required
One year of related experience preferred
